I didn't see how Amanda wound up hanged to begin with.

Was she a suicide? Or murdered by the brother?

It was implied that she was murdered by her brother a couple of times. Judging by the apparent rape that was going to happen at the end, I'd say his intention for the murder was to keep her around for very devious reasons indeed.

It was never implied that her brother murdered her. It was implied that he had an obsessive attraction toward her which is later confirmed in a more literal way.

She definitely hung herself or the whole "dog leading Waylan to the body" scene is pointless. But don't even get into the **SPOILERS**

…. 2 Amanda bodies while Eli is looking for Waylan in the woods. Who knows why there's one behind a tree but somehow also hanging from another tree simultaneously. Weird right?
