So many questions!

Did the old hippie guy in the technicolor jacket in the woods (Ananasi) start it all?

Was RJ's coffee business a scam, or did he really have powers to instill confidence, humility, stamina, etc. into his customers through his coffee?

Why don't the cops have guns?

Does NOBODY in this movie have guns?

Technically, since you keep jumping around in your life's timeline, with memories of your life's past and future, then does your conscious/soul never die?

I have many questions myself but my theory on why the police do not carry guns is... well I have a couple.

One; they are psych police and not real police which could explain it.

Two; the penny found on the sidewalk has an image of Queen Elizabeth. They could be in an alternate timeline where the United States never declared independence, or attempted to and failed, thus leaving the US as a British colony. Guns are less common in such countries.
