Where is 'Doc Martin' show located?

I've seen photos of the Cornwall area in my genealogical research and Doc Martin's show's scenery looks very similar. Where is his office located, anyway? Anywhere close to Cornwall?

The fictional town of Portwenn is actually the town of Port Isaac in Cornwall.

If you want to have fun, load up Google Earth and zoom in on Port Isaac...

It's a little like walking round the sets!!

We've watched the last 2 episodes, but now I am lost. Did Doc M just move to this new town where he now lives near is aunt? Or is this a repeat of an old show and they are starting this sequence all over again? It seems like he had a fairly serious romance in the spring episode I saw. Now he appears to be in a new town. Thanks for an update.
