'Uncanny Resemblance' to Rapist..

Here's a thought/possibility:

Perhaps she didn't kill Benoit, perhaps in the end they worked together. They could've caught the rapist who he had an uncanny resemblance to (which may explain the scene in the end where he's driving off and smiling), and killed him instead. Thoughts?
