I grew up in Yorkshire in the 70's and this was really done well. I did not know how old the movie was when I saw it and was surprised to find out it came out last year I could easily believe it was made in the 70's everything was done just right. I enjoyed the film it is a good film but the accuracy of the 70's is amazing. It really is what Yorkshire was like back then. (although I am thinking 77,78,79 I am too young to remember 74)

Did anyone else think the same this could have been shot in the 70's.

When they ask for ten bob, they get £5 or £10?
I understood "bob" to be slang for shilling, which is fivepence, so tenbob ought to be 50p or did they mean something else up North?

yes ten bob is 50p I do not remember them getting £5 or £10 though it might have been a pound note but even that means they were given double what they asked for. Although it could just be they were given a bit extra

Yep, I just watched it it was a pound note. Although I didn't realise there was ever such a thing, thought it was just the Americans haha.

I was 10 in 74 so watching this was great to see the clothes, interiors, toys etc. The poster that she put above her bed is the exact one I had, in fact I has a girl one too and ive always wanted them again. Anyone know where I could try? Enjoyed the film too.
