A party? Seriously?

It cracked me up when Billy was commenting happily about how the party was so hot maybe someone might call the cops? If the cops showed up, they would find out that Jane was living without adult supervision, call Child Protective Services and put her in foster care. Gosh Billy, wouldn't that be so cool and fun for Jane? I'm not sure how likely it would be that either Ben or Mrs. Quimby would get her back, either. After all, Ben was out of work until recently and now has a job that requires constant travel (unless he goes back to teaching). Jane was actually the one paying the mortgage (which doesn't make him look too responsible), and the mom had all ready abandoned them once and is now living out of state. If Jane ends up in foster care, there is no way that her deception at work is not going to come out. She loses her job, can't pay the mortgage, they lose the house...no home, she stays in foster care.

But yah...by all means, have a party and draw attention to the situation. Dumb kids!
