I Call BS On The Drill

That Shaolin monk guy definitely did put a drill up to his skin and have it basically tear pieces of his skin off, but there is no way in hell he was pushing that drill against his body.

But IronZombie! What about that pressure sensor!? - you say.

The pressure sensor was on the outer handle of the drill. Did you notice that there were 2 handles on it. He may have very well been pushing the drill where the sensor was to have it register that, but he could've been counteracting that force with his other arm and the other handle. That's why the drill stood absolutely still and just basically burned his skin a little.

I'm sure it hurt like hell to have that drill bit tearing away at your skin, and before some wiseass gets in here and says "DUDE LIKEZ CAN YO DO THAT!? DIDN'T THINK SO DUDE STFU!" no, I would rather not put holes in my skin like that, but it doesn't mean it's impossible or superhuman. The monk was never in any real danger of killing himself so long as he held that drill in place. That is not what I call superhuman.

Also on a side note, what the hell is up with those stupid screen flares they constantly used during this particular story? It looked so amateur and completely out of place and kept getting in the way. Ridiculous. Who the hell did their editing?

I dont think the monk is "superhuman" but you would be a fool to doubt that his skin is harder than average.. If you train daily doing that stuff or just hit your fists against a wall for an hour every day you would end up with a fist made of iron, same concept here. Im sure he wasnt pushing the drill full force, but I dont doubt that his skin is harder than average.

My only complaint was it felt like they barely even researched his claim. I wanted to see more tests or something that would be more conclusive but they kinda just glanced over his story.

No his skin definitely looked like it had built up a slight tolerance to that stuff I hear ya there, but it's the same concept as when your fingertips build up calluses when you play guitar for a long time. It's a natural body function used to resist outside forces. It doesn't make him special or "superhuman" at all.

The purpose of this thread isn't merely that he wasn't superhuman, but that most of the stuff he did was not that impressive. The drilling part in particular was a fraudulent claim since they made it seem like he was actually trying to push the drill straight into his head but all he really did was hold it there in place while it grinded against his skin.

And I agree, it doesn't feel like they're even researching these things all that much anymore it's like "oh, you've shown us your trick, that's amazing! Moving on now.. next we have a guy who swallows and spits water. Amazing!!"
