Considering I AM the breadwinner of a family with a husband and two kids

I haven't watched the movie, but I can relate to the premise.

It's a thankless position to be in, but it's better than being condemned as a "Welfare bum"

I can relate, too! Haven't been a fund manager but had lots of travel for work.

I would be more upset with having a husband who made less. Doesn't that cause resentment.

Whichever spouse has the best career/money opportunity should work, and the other stay home to take care of kids. It usually turns out that the guy has the best opportunity, and the woman stays home. Nobody has a problem with that. Good for her! But if by chance the woman has a better job opportunity, and the guy stays home, he's regarded as a bum, a loser, a layabout, sponging off his wife. It's a perfect double standard.
