Will a director's cut ever be released?

I really really really want to see the supposed 3 hour long cut of the film. I actually don't think the theatrical cut wasn't THAT bad. It had a great start and had a great idea, it's just sad that the studio had to cannibalize the film. I really really really want to see the real version vecause it sounds like it was *beep* awesome,

Can't ever seeing it happening especially with the directors current projects.

there are deleted scenes that give some insight to the original cut.

I have a feeling that the original cut, the mystery/thriller cut, would be better than the theatrical cut. I guess the studio since Arnold was in it, it had to be an action movie.
