Why are people hating on this?

For all of its flaws, it was above-average entertaining.

I thought it had some nice touches that you don't see very often.

1) During the gunfight at the cabin, they used a technique I hadn't seen before where they showed a first-person-shooter view of the gun being shot, with all the shakiness and lack of focus you would realistically expect in a gunfight.

2) The car chase with Lizzie in the trunk was pretty good, too, especially the crash at the end where the guy hits the back of the flatbed. You don't see crashes like that often.

I think you can basically boil down moves to 3 possible ratings:

0) Waste of time. No redeeming qualities at all. It takes discipline to finish them. I think few mainstream movies qualify for this rating, although a lot of the no-name stuff on Netflix qualifies.

1) Flawed but still entertaining. Most mainstream genre movies fall into this category. Purists or aficionados of a specific genre may pick them apart, but overall they are a couple of hours of entertainment.

2) Excellent. None or very few flaws. Stands up to repeat viewing, even in a fairly short time span.

I would say Sabotage was a 1. It had its flaws, but it held my attention pretty effortlessly.
