Frankie's Daughter
What happened to her?
His daughter died of a drug overdose.
shareHow old was his daughter and step daughter when they died? How many kids did Frankie have anyway?
shareFrancine was about 20 when she died. Her half sister was probably in her mid 20s when she died since she was older than Francine. Frankie raised marys daughter who was two when they got married and they had two other girls together and he had three boys with his third wife.
shareWatching Frankie lose his daughter could have been a really sad scene, except that the whole father-daughter relationship was so glossed over, that it did not have much effect on me. It's ironic that a movie that lasts two and a half hours has to rush through some parts.
His daughter was only in about four or five scenes.
1. Frankie tucks her in and sings a song for her. That was cute.
2. Frankie says a quick goodbye to his three daughters before he goes back out on the road. That's the last you see of the other daughters.
3. She's now a rebellious teenager who ran away. Frankie has his friend retrieve her and bring her to a restaurant for a little sit-down. Frankie promises to help her with her singing career.
Singing career? She has singing career? Now, we find out about it? The audience has just spent 90 minutes watching Frankie and Co. rise from struggling in obscurity in the music business to the top of the charts, but apparently, Frankie's own daughter has no story to tell about her musical venture.
4. She's dead. Sure, I felt bad for Frankie losing his daughter, as I feel bad for anyone who loses a daughter, but I did not feel any personal attachment, as it all happened so quickly.

A dope trailer is no place for a kitty.

Well the movie was about the lives of all four of the members, with Frankie being the lead role. They delved into his daughter and her tragic death just enough IMO. There was no need to spend any more time on that subject.
