How did George make enough money to live in Chatswin?

It's an affluent area so each of those homes must cost more than the national average plus higher property taxes. He's supposed to be an architect which could allow him to telecommute often but he apparently also installed a lot of skylights, or at least designed them for some reason. Maybe people like Dallas employed him a lot to design some home improvements or modifications.
