Too messy to be an homage... too referential to stand on its own.

I wish this movie had slowed down enough to let us in as viewers.

A lot of "whys" go unanswered. A lot of potential left unused. And a lot of "to what end?" flailing there when the credits roll.

There could be a sequel to clear up some of these loose ends and motives, but why not quick do some reshoots and fix this original?

That's what happens when you film a script by Kim Henkel.

Dude co-wrote the story for the original TCM and has been riding that lucky break for decades as an excuse to write terrible horror films.
