Needs more swastikas

It is not obvious enough that it is Nazi America. They should have put a few more swastikas on that phone receiver, parking meter, and drink coaster.

Do you remember those ads they ran ahead of season 1? They were on buses and subways mostly. But they had those swastika and stripes American flags, and pictures of various people - one was of Smith, another had a group of kids - giving the Nazi salute. Not a lot of people were familiar with the Philip K. Dick book so even though it had Amazon, and The Man in the High Castle (along with the premiere date) many didn't realize it was a commercial for a show. Some of them seemed to think Smith was an actual Nazi party leader who was going to be holding a rally on that date.

A few of the commuters I rode with got really angry at the ads, one guy was saying (yelling actually) that Nazi propaganda had no place in this country and how dare they desecrate the American flag with that f*cking symbol! I've noticed Amazon avoids any prominent displays of the swastika flag or the sieg heil salute in their advertising now. :)

In the year 2030, if a single person gets on a bus full of 100 people going just across town and that single person needs to go somewhere 50 miles in the other direction, it will be law that the bus go that 50 miles out of the way first. Also if one person in the entire country ends up being allergic to carrots, then all carrots everywhere will be destroyed.

So true. The accommodation of the snowflakes is getting ridiculous. Whenever anyone's offended these days, you're expected to apologize profusely and renounce whatever it was that gave offense.

It all depends. It seems today if someone is of a certain race and especially also of a certain gender they can be automatically assumed guilty of anything because of the real or even perceived crimes people of the same race and gender had done in the past.

reply

Hasn't that always been more or less true for those of the disenfranchised class/race/gender?

reply

More or less true, I guess as a society we do not learn from the past then

Don't forget the bookshelf/room divider in Smith's apartment.
