I lost interest after the finale last year but the trailer has intrigued me enough to give it a second shot.

The mystery of the origin of The Grasshopper Lies Heavy book was one of the central plot threads in the original novel. The show is obviously diverging from the novel significantly, but it still seems much too early to resolve the mystery of the films' origins because if that mystery is solved in the second season (basically less than halfway through the narrative arc of the show if it runs five seasons as Spotnitz suggested in some interviews) it raises big questions about where the narrative arc of the show is going to go and how effective it will be.
shareAh. Well, I think five seasons is way too many. I'm hoping that whatever direction they take this story in, they'll have it concluded in two seasons, three at most. So for my own part, I'm a bit impatient to finally see Abendsen.
