Please help me follow the show... POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Has been difficult to follow for me. Mainly because I don't want to re-watch season 1 again. But what I'm mainly unclear about is who are the ones "in the know" and who are not? And when I say "in the know," I'm not even sure what that is. Knowing that there are films depicting parallel worlds? Knowing that there might be a way to hop worlds? Or, is it simply knowing how to prevent a nuclear war by watching these films? So I'm not exactly sure what "in the know" exactly entails since the man in the high castle said, "I ask the question!" So, Juliana's curiosity and questions aren't satisfied, hence, the audience's questions aren't either.

I'm in season 2, midst of episode 3, and I've decided to pause and write this post. LOL! So from what I gather most of the military people are running around chasing films, but they don't know the fantastical sci-fi nature of these films. As mentioned, Hitler won't let anyone see it. So these military people are simply trying to retrieve these films because of instructions on how to build a bomb are hidden in them. That's just the extent of their knowledge, right? Do they know that the films depict parallel worlds?

Hitler: What exactly is Hitler's knowledge about these films and what is his plan? I know he watches them, but what's his plan?
Obergruppenführer John Smith: Does he know? Or, does he simply think he's chasing down smuggled "how to build a bomb" instructions hidden in films?
Inspector Kido: Same question.. Does he know about parallel worlds? Or, does he simply think he's chasing how to build a bomb instructions?
Tagomi: I know he experienced it, but does he know the films are a glimpse too?
The Resistance & Man in High Castle team: They know about these worlds, and they simply want to prevent a nuclear bomb from going off in their reality. That's their motive, right?

I'm not even sure what I'm asking. LOL!
