So Joe is basically a serial-liar?

I'm almost done with season 1, couple episodes left to go, but I sort of find it unbelievable how all over the place Joe's character is in terms of loyalty.

The guy lies to the Nazis. He lies to the Resistance. He lies to a girl he's fallen for. He lies to the girl he takes care of. And he doesn't do it like he has things planned or figured out, he just lies to lie. He has no real reason for it mentally.

I think the guy's just a serial-liar, basically. It makes his character pretty unlikable, though I'm not sure he is supposed to be likable. To me he just seems "there".

Well, the music that plays over the most recent trailer for the second season is a cover of "Little Lies"....

I think he more confused than anything else. He is lost and doesn't know his place in the world or which side he should be fighting on. It seems he is being used and manipulated by both sides and doesn't seem to know who he can really trust.

Either that or he is really just a spy for the Nazis, doing whatever he can to get ahead and survive.

Given where he ends up around the end of season 2, I think my 1st theory is probably more accurate. The guy can't seem to make up his own mind about things unless someone else does it for him.
