really tried

I've been wanting to see this movie for a long time. When I pushed play, I fell asleep about 30 minutes in. So mad, I started it over later. About an hour into the movie I fell asleep. I figured 3rd time's a charm, so I played it again and fell asleep with about 40 minutes left. I watched the whole movie, but in parts. Honestly, I liked the movie. I just wish I could have stayed awake for it

Try harder

reply

Why? It doesn't get any less boring.

Also, try not to watch movies in bed. Sit in an armchair like a grown-up.

reply

Armchairs are overrated. Come to think of it, so are gown-ups.

This is one of the best comedies ever! I watched it late in the evening after a full day of work and, more importantly, after getting almost no sleep the night before. Not for one second did I think I would nod off; in fact, I opened Google Maps and followed along with their travels. It has been many years since I visited the Lake District, but, oh man, do I ever want to go back and sample some of that beauty and cuisine.

Get a pot of coffee and some Red Bull and try harder =P

I understand having that reaction. It is far from electrifying. It has, for me, become a movie to watch between things. Not because of sleep but just because it is not absorbing enough to make a priority. 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there.

It is somewhat amusing. I can't go further than that. I'm about half way through now and it is 50/50 whether I will finish it.

I was the same, had to stop for a couple of breaks as I found myself losing interest, I'm not saying the film is no good, just too much Brydon/Cougan & impersonations going on all the time for my tastes. Enjoyable film though and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Sounds like you are the problem. I've never fallen asleep while watching a movie in my entire life. No matter how bad, slow or boring it might have been. So to fall asleep three different times during a movie you were clearly interested to see...I think that says more about you.
