A remake...

this plot reminds me of a movie with Bruce Willis...Sara Jessica Parker...done around 15 years ago..Should have researched the name of the movie...but didnt.

Plot lines are almost identical.

Hollywood is running out of ideas. At least watchable ones anyway.

Striking Distance is the Bruce Willis one, just watched again the other day. Just rented River Murders, does sound alot like Striking Distance. Hope its good!

It wasn't as bad as that one, where dumbass Willis takes off on a jet ski unarmed with cuffs on, to chase the bad guy, when if he waited a minute, the other cops could've helped him.

What are they doing? Why do they come here?
Some kind of instinct, memory, what they used to do.

It wasn't a jet ski it was a speed boat. The reason he didn't wait for the cops was because the cops were after him. He was trying to prove his innocence.

If you are going to try and blind us us with your brilliance at least try and get your details right.

The other cops let him go, the cops at that point realized Willis was innocent. Since he was unarmed and had cuffs on, the scene just reeked of lameness and stupidity, just like your silly comment. I didn't start the thread so I am not obligated to go back and research another crummy movie to get everything up to your scholarly level

They let him go from the Internal Affairs investigation that he was unprofessional because of SJP testimony.

Then later at his house boat he found the girl dead in the water and blood on his boat. He left because of the police sirens coming for him because someone had tipped them off.

reply

Nah the bad guy in The River Murders had religious motives, the bad guy in Striking Distance was just effed up inside

"if seagal was thinner this could have been a theatrical product."

This isn't a remake of The Crimson Rivers with Jean Reno is it?

I love how this turned into a discussion about Striking Distance, which I thought was awesome! I am very biased with Bruce Willis and I'm from Pittsburgh, where Striking Distance took place, so I'm not a good reference.

"Who's the best cop!?" hahaha

reply

It did share similarity to Striking Distance because the killer (Tom Sizemore and I forget the other actor?) did kill some of Bruce Willis' former sex partners, but he wanted to frame him for some other reason I cannot remember. I liked that movie!

reply

It reminded me of that film as well.
