he did a poor job in this movie really, completely non-believable a police officer of any kind would behave like he did

Nah, he's probably the best thing about the film and delivers the most solid and professional performance he's actually investing some energy unlike the rest of the cast that seem to be sleepwalking through. Liotta is okay if a little uneven, Rhames doesn't even try and Fraga can't. Basically, The casting in this film is all wrong apart from Rodrick who's fine. Who buys that Liotta (16 years older) is his dad, let alone having a career in law enforcement for 28 years.
