Why did Carlotta of Aragon continued to refuse Cesare?

Was she not in love with him?

Oh I believe it's quite obvious that Carlotta liked him from the very start - just pay attention on how she looks at him in the first episodes.

Why did she continue to reject him?

- The planned political marriage between her and Guy de Laval should solve the conflict between the Aragon and the Anjou dynasties around the throne of Naples. Carlotta is a good daughter and surely she wants to help her family. Besides it's not that easy for a young girl to go against the will of her father, and the French monarchs, and pretty much everyone aroung her.

- She is not certain of Cesare's true feelings and suspects he wants to marry her only for political reasons, too: to get the rights on the throne of Naples. Especially because everyone around her doesn't even doubt it.

- She is clearly repulsed by Cesare's violent and cruel ways - and honestly, what girl weren't in her place? Guy de Laval may be not on par with Cesare in terms of appearance, wit and character but he's always gentle, polite and well, harmless - much better qualities for a future husband.

Yeah I thought it was too, but she was sending him mixed unsure feelings, it would appear.

Where were the Aragons from Spain? I think Cesare would have killed Guy, Guy seemed to be trying to aggravate Cesare at every turn.

I thought Carlotta was pretty hot, but the noble French girl Charlotte was even more beautiful, it would appear Cesare really hit the jackpot then.
