those that gave it 1

I'm guessing about 5% watched the doc. What an amazing doc. The grievance the ones that gave the movie a one is not with the quality of the documentary but this is their political vote. Their vote is to let children starve regardless of why they got in that situation. What makes me scratch my head is they would mostly view themselves as Christians. So the saved cult from the US have turned Jesus in a gun toting, your own your own, don't tread on me, self righteous jerk. He must have a special place it hell for those you so grossly misrepresents his message. One person posted...Jesus does not support stealing and helping poor starving children through taxation is stealing. This argument proves they did not watch the documentary and secondly, the logic is simply wrong.

Helping the poor eat is a net gain for the tax payer. Furthermore they do not suggest higher taxes. Our defense budget is to keep us safe. We continue to arm ourselves for wars that will no longer be happening. Congress has ordered another 3000 tanks that the pentagon doesn't even want or will ever need. Helping the poor eat is in a sense, a defense issue. Not a hypothetical one, like most of our defense spending. We are spending TRILLIONS in case. These starving kids are there. By helping them have this basic necessity it goes such a long way in stoping the cycle of crime and many other civil ills.

I loved the documentary.. It enlightened me immensely.. I had no idea we we're starving and our food welfare program was so pathetic.

The lasting image i have after watching it was the "The cost of Eating Healthy" diagram.

$3 Buys You:

> A glass of O.J., 3 bites of broccoli and about 20 grapes = 312 calories

OR

> 4 liters of soda, 5 Ramen Noodles and a big bag of chips = 3767 calories

Now where is a low socioeconomic household gonna spend their money? Junk food.

I was pretty amazed that this documentary is getting less than a 7 vote. I gave it a 9. I didn't hear any news about this when it came out, but I'm guessing that some right wing loon with a radio and/or tv show came out against it and a legion of dittoheads dutifully came here to vote it down without seeing it.
