Christian Slater comeback?

I can't wait to see this movie, finally a cast that Christian Slater can match talents with!

reply

Not guna happen. He'll be a passenger if this is successful.

reply

what do you mean?

reply

If the film is a success. Then it won't be because of Slater's contribution. It'll be based on others doing more around him.

reply

Please watch Heathers, Pump up the Volume, Untamed Heart, True Romance, Broken Arrow, Very Bad Things, He was a Quiet Man, Dolan's Cadillac, and Jimmy Hollywood. If you cannot witness his abilities as a leading man and supporting player then you are blind.

reply

Pump up the volume!!!! True Romance 👌👌👌

reply

You're so cool

reply

You've got to be joking. Christian Slater cannot act in the most conventional sense that most ordinary people understand acting to be. His entire career is based on a half-decent Jack Nicholson impression that he does in place of *actual* acting. I can't believe I actually have to explain this to someone who is familiar with his back catalogue and also seems to have ears and eyes.

Slater is the man and needs as amazing movies and roles as he is doing on stage recently. Besides "He Was a Quiet Man" and "Dolan's Cadillac", he tends to be the only great thing in many of his last films like "Freaky Deaky" and "Rites of Passage" (he gives a tour de force, but the rest of the movie and acting is *beep*
"Adderall Diaries" is based off a great book, and with talent like Franco and Harris, he doesn't have to carry the film all by himself

reply

He's in Freaky deaky? I keep meaning to watch that, it's one of my favourite Elmore Leonard novels.

"Hot lesbian witches!"

reply

I sure hope so. Just watched "Murder In The First" and "Who is Cletis Tout" in the past week and was reminded how enjoyable of a performer he is.

Greetings and Salutations.
Thank you for highlighting even more Slater performances that merit attention!
I also forgot to mention other standout lead and supporting performances in Interview with a Vampire, Where the Day Takes You, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Hard Rain, Bed of Roses, Gleaming the Cube, Windtalkers, and Kuffs (even though I think I'm the only person who absolutely loves this film and needs to re watch it every year -- it's Ferris Bueller's Day Off with guns, but with serious emotions when needed that actually work).

reply

Well, *beep* me gently with a chainsaw! Not only do I have Adderall Diaries to look forward to, but now Mr. Robot with Rami Malek and the one and only Mr. Slater is coming June 24th. Nothing but amazing buzz on this series (Audience Award 2015 SXSW FIlm Festival, co created by the makers of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and True Detective), so the comeback is ALIVE!!!
Talk Hard and Steal the Air, Slater!!!

reply

He's now won a Golden Globe Mr. Robot. Take that greg-goremykin! Agreed he's great in True Romance, Heathers, Very Bad Things and Pump up the Volume.
