Well presumably he thought the apartment didn't look big enough for a family or have signs of anyone else living there which is what I thought straight away, plus if she had told him she lived in a big house then an apartment is a bit different.

Plus the picture you could see how she cut the wife out & put her face in. And there was no other picture. The house reflected she lived alone. But she could hv told him she moved out or something. I was getting confused like was that real or what that something she made up. Like her boss came in to warn her about affairs. Was the man that hired the P I to find her was that even real And what happened to those ducks she ordered?
