Looks interesting

I just saw the trailer and it reminds me a little bit of Dragonheart 2 and Dungeons & Dragons. That mix ca not be bad, can it?

Keep 'em coming guys.

Logan: I don't know.
Rogue: You don't know, or you don't care?
Logan: Pick one.

I'll give it a go. It'll probably do ok considering the popularity of Skyrim

It doesn't look like anything that originated from Dungeons and Dragons, or any similar pseudo medieval fantasy game. It might look a little like the utterly awful dungeons and dragons movie of some years ago, which is not something to inspire confidence.

The cover looks as though it belongs on a Saturday morning kids TV show Christmas pantomime, except the costumes appear more hastily assembled.

I like good fantasy movies, and I am also rather short of anything to watch at the moment. Unfortunately the cover of this movie puts me off. I am afraid I don't think I can conquer that and bring myself to watch the thing.

It's rather shallow of you to judge a film by a cover or poster. There are no dungeons and it has nothing to do with D&D. What it is is a totally predictable TV film. Nice photography, halfway decent dragon and that's it.

It's worth a download, but not worth spending money on.

It's rather shallow of you to not understand promotion and advertising to the extent than a book, movie or audio recording WILL be judged by it's presentation. Would you have people wander into a DVD store and flail their arms around until a DVD falls into their hands as a preferred method of selecting a film to purchase?

No... it's certainly more logical to look at the presentation of the product and use that as the only available indication of quality.

The cover isn't just a little bit questionable. It is outright awful.

I am quite happy to take the lack of effort or lack of judgement on behalf of production staff that resulted in it, as an indication of what lies within.

Oh... and here's a little tip for you! You somtimes CAN tell a lot about people by their appearance too, despite common claims to the contrary. ;)

I would never rent or buy a DVD that I'd never heard of, regardless of the cast, director etc any more than I would pay much attention to a poster or cover. If you rely on that then you are acting in a superficial manner, whatever you say. I speak with decades of marketing experience under my belt, and I think I know better than you what to look for.

Ditto your crass comment about personal appearance. Sure some people appear to be complete dorks, but to judge on that basis is lazy and superficial. Your last sentence gives it away, with your reference to "common claims to the contrary". So all these people with their common claims know less than you? Why do you think the word "common" is employed here?

The makers of Immortals spent $50 million on marketing. I am sure their advertising and point-of-sale will have influenced many people to watch that pile of dogpoo.

Just for interest, does wandering into a DVD store and flailing one's arms around actually work? Just professional curiosity, you understand.

Empty words using a lot of air and saying nothing!

Based on that, I absolutely believe that you work in marketing! :)

In my experience, unless you are suffering from an injury, flailing your arms about most anywhere 'works'.

I'm sorry my comments went over your head; I appreciate it is not given to all of us to comprehend written English outside that found in the Urban Dictionary.

If you did understand written English you would have noted that my reference to marketing was written in the past tense. I no longer work. It is this shallowness on your part that made me call your earlier comments superficial. How can you understand anything when you don't know what has been said?

If you find that flailing your arms about works then you are obviously a big girl's blouse and you should check with your doctor whether such activity is appropriate for you.

Its a halfway decent low budget film..
Elements of the story are similar to loads of of different films as basically its a retelling of the heroes journey from lowly sheep herder/farmer/peasant to warrior/knight you know boy loses family finds girl loses girl finds bad guy wins girl saves the day etc etc..ive seen a few films that were much much worse than this though(im looking at you SyFy channel)
at least this one didnt have really bad acting or terrible dialogue and though the sfxs were minor tv quality at best but when compared to The Asylums they were Oscar worthy
I wouldnt recommend paying to see it in a theatre but on cable or tv its worth a look

While I think that I probably liked it a little better than you did, that's a fair assessment over all.

It is not interesting and it is bad.
Be warned, stay away.
Even for a budget movie it stinks.
