Episodes Where the Murderer is Changed

I realize this series alters plot lines on multiple occasions, but they usually keep the central culprit. The only exceptions I'm aware of are:

- The Sittaford Mystery
- Why Didn't They Ask Evans?
- The Secret of Chimneys

Did they do it in any others?

The Body in the Library
At Bertram's Hotel

I knew that they changed one of the murderers in "Body in the Library" from male to female but they kept the same motive. Who was the original killer in "At Bertram's"?

reply

Elvira worked alone in the book, however in this adaption they made Brigit her accomplice. But I would say it's a nice change and the murder scheme is more clever than the book.

I agree. "At Bertram's" is one of my favorite episodes actually. Several great misdirections. And I really enjoyed Stephen Mangan and Martine McCutcheon alongside Geraldine McEwan of course.

reply

Yes, this one does a good job in adapting a relatively weak novel.
