Confused about language

The characters in this movie use English and Hindi essentially every other word. Sometimes a whole conversation will be in one or the other while sometimes they'll alternate sentences. I'm extremely confused by this. Is this how Indians really talk or is it some really weird film technique used by the director?

This is normal in India, be it Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, or any other language, people mix it with English. It's normal. I guess brain chooses the 1st phrase/word it gets, sometime the Indian word is faster, sometimes the English one is. ;)

That's the way it is in India . . . as the previous poster said. It's sort of hilarious how everyone wants India to be the fiction they have in their mind, not as it is.

BTW, English is a mixture of add-in words too, but the mix happened centuries ago. And Spanish is often a mixture of English and Spanish phrases, too.
