Really? During a zombie apocalypse someone....

At the military base carelessly leaves the main gate open? I know, I know I get it. If all the characters were smart there probably would not be a movie to begin with but come on give me something to work with writers. I haven't made it through the whole movie yet but during the first 30 mins that's all I can think about. I'm trying to place myself in that situation. I'm gripped with fear, in the midst of a zombie outbreak and multiple guards... I mean again Really We're just going to leave the gate open then turn in for the night?

You know that is exactly what I thought too - I kept thinking to myself "There is no way they could have left it open" and the thing that got me was that there was reference to it again when they were driving away in the van. It was like a bad plot moment drawing attention to itself.

Well I figured it out. I think. When the bad guys come into the film, they pin down the blonde chick and one says "Your friends at the base got a nice surprise last night!" so I assume they mean the Army base, and that they opened the gates to let the undead in. It makes sense - it's the only explanation I have. I certainly don't believe soldiers would leave gates open in an apocalypse - if so they deserve to die!

Diabola.

Yeah You nailed it. Spot on. It's the only explanation that makes sense. Still I would imagine the gates would've have 24 hr surveillance. Ah well. thanks for clearing that up. It was bugging me to no end.

Thanks for posting that explanation!

nothing pisses me off more...... i know its a movie but people would most likely turn on each other in circumstances such as this movie, but the fact that you would have to watch out for zombies and other people.... really sucks

I tried to play along with this movie, but the first segment was even dumber tha the army guys leaivng the gate open. You know there's zombies otside, yet you hold the camera, follow your husband outside while your daughter is inside the doorway with the door open. Then you hear her scream, run to her and just sit next to her in her room WITH THE DOOR OPEN and film the zombie as it comes to feed off the both of you.

Even dumber than that are the rape scenes. What it is with the directors and zombie rape? It was just as unnecessary and stupid in Zombie Diaries. These boys need to get checked. Lol

It's not the worst zombie movie ever, but it's way more stupid than it needed to be.

Yeah, and on top of that it looks like its been shot with someones mobile phone lol.

I also thought it was those guys who trashed their vehicle initially, right? I couldn't actually tell what had happened with it, but I was under the impression the same guys trashed it.

The explanation for the gate being open isn`t that clear I`ll admit, but what did you want - a freezeframe with the words "HE opened the base`s gate to let the zombies in!" and a flashing arrow pointing out the culprit?
Doesn`t sound like any of you`ve seen the 1st film or you would have surmised that it was indeed Gokay (Russell Jones) that was responsible.
Even though it`s not the greatest franchise I hope they do a 3rd, if only to see Gokay finally get his just desserts - a thoroughly nasty individual, who could well be the post-millennial equivalent of Krug/Alex, the late David Hess` 2 most famous roles.

Totally shambolic writing, the thing that annoyed me most was that they were using Hummers, British army would be using Landrovers and Hummers would be pretty hard to come by in the UK. One of the guys says clicks for KM too. Pretty sure this is an American army term.
The guys had some difficulty putting the zombies down as well, dont know how many missed shots there were but they must have missed with every shot fired.

It was tripe when the soldier tells the cameraman that they have limited power but then tells him he can use it to recharge his camera. Haha. What a load of bull. Like soldiers are going to waste their limited power on a camera. Also sounded like the producers bowed to pressure from critics of the first movie who laughed at it about the battery life of the camera in that movie. Ha.

Its okay. The totally unscary slowest ever moving zombies were pretty easy to pick off anyway. Yep that got me to the edge of my seat.
