Thoughts on the movie?

Wondering what people thought of this movie?
I just got it from my foreign movie dvd club this month and I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it as well. There wasn't a masterful plot or anything, but I still found it interesting. I wish the guy would have just admitted to sleeping with the blonde chic instead of slapping his wife when she admitted to cheating as well. It just sort of left his indiscretion unresolved.

kat, i just saw this, borrowed from our local public library. I thought this had
a lot of potential and a most intriguing premise, but that it really fell apart in the end; this creative director just ran out of steam and/or financing.Did you think so?

In the end, the only 'lesson learned'/character evolution I could identify was when the 'man of the house' asks the nosy neighbor lady not to speak badly about their friends. I wish some Japanese viewer would chime in; maybe they would say that yes, this was such a major change for him that it WAS the film's major resolution. Or not! I got that the film was dealing with zenophobia but that whole crazy Bunuel-like thing w/ all those foreigners filling up the house- that was where it all crumbled and never coallesced, imo. I was kept intrigued by the visitor/intruder. If the director could have stayed focused on HIM, it would have been a much more worthwhile experience for me.

(BTW, the film had a little in common w/ an unusual older film called The Killer of Sheep, with Danny Glover as the angel-or-devil interloper.)
