have just watched the film, and still couldnt figure out why the man kills? i mean i am not good at swedish, but i hardly seemed to hear any dialogues about the killing intention the killer had for the killings in the film?:/ and it all seemed to happen quite....randomly spontaneously which doesnt make any sense? :/ so wonder if anyone here that has watched the film and understood the reason for the killer to kill?

shareActually, the writers said they wanted it to be "Malin's movie", that they wanted it to be all about her. It's not about the killer, his story isn't supposed to be important.
I don't know how much you understood, but it is quite clear that he has kidnapped many women before and he sort of implied that he was going to rape Malin later on.
Though, it still bugs me a little that they didn't explain his intentions further. But I guess he's just a plain ol' psychopath.
What the Hell is to explain!? He's a serial killer. He takes victims after having "scared" them into a secluded, isolated road, and then locks them up where he molests them before killing them. Serial killers in movies are very rarely explained, as there is little point. They kill because they're twisted and sick in the head. This film isn't about the bad guy either, it's about the woman, his victim, the first victim to get away.
