One of the best Scooby-Doo films so far, in my opinion

I'm a pretty big Scooby fan and I've seen all the films (and series, played all the games, etc.) so far, and in my opinion, this is one of the best films to date. I liked the variety of monsters and settings, with them all integral to the unified plot, the settings had great atmosphere, I liked the humor a lot in this one, including that they poked fun at themselves often, and I loved the animation. Especially many of the backgrounds were simply gorgeous, plus the monsters had a beautiful graphic-novel kind of stylization.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Jrnlo! This is one of the best!

I thought I'd see spoiled mean-spirited, bratty campers, reminiscent of some of the characters on "What's New, Scooby-Doo," but was pleasantly surprised to see the gang and friends work together! Scooby's a pretty good driver, huh?! :)

I just watched it on CN, and I agree, it's definitely one of the best Scooby Doo movies in years. Like you guys said, the monster variety, the action, humor, and the Scooby gang with the campers definitely made this enjoyable. I also love the look of the flooded town.

It also sounds like the actors had fun with this, as did the musicians and singers!

I do have one question....I realize that this is just a movie, but wouldn't the villain be in his 90s, considering gangsters, and the suit he was wearing, were around in the 1920s-40s? Aside from asthma, this guy was quite spry! (Just one of those curiosities, which of course, did not take away from this great movie!)

reply

True, but then again, watching Mystery Inc. always seemed like everything in the late 60's/early 70's was cannon now. He could be 90, and just have that look of a child, hence the nickname "Babyface Boretti".

This is definitely one of the better Scooby Doo cartoons.

reply

Not to mention the animation. It was supremely better than any other movie to date.

reply

Yup, one of the best since Zombie Island.

It was like Meatballs The Scooby Gang had the poorer camp and
next door was the rich camp.

I loved it, the best bit were the evil monsters they were actually scary. Well the Woodsman one was for me, reminded of a slasher film.

reply

Totally. This one was great.
