... by no means am I trying to say a woman in her 30s is old or anything... but most of Hollywood seems to have cast Jessica alba aside now most likely because of her age (no jokes about her acting please).... but my word.. in this film where she is cast aside a 'new' younger generation of starlets... she still looks a million times more attractive than any of them P

Natalie Portman is the same age and is getting roles; Jessica Chastain is older but is in everything; Anne Hathaway gets work; Emily Blunt and Felicity Jones are only two years younger, but their careers are really getting hot. You say no jokes about her acting, but that is what it comes down to. The career of an actress known only for he looks has a shelf life; Alba's ran its course. There are actresses even younger whose careers were over while still only in their 20's. If Alba had tried to improve her acting, she would be in a really great spot right now: mature enough to get well-written roles, but still young enough to be getting work (let's talk when an actress turns 40).
But hey, she at least has her company with its billion dollar valuation. And yes, she is still is good looking as ever.
It was pretty cool that the background story to her character in this movie is similar to her character in Dark Angel (2000) which was the first role I (and many others) saw her in to her sort of tying the knot together in this one...
Although of course what they grew up to become was very different...

No they haven't. She put her acting career aside to focus on her business, the Honest brand is now worth more than $1Bn.
Nothing to do with her age, plus she's only 34, I still class that as young. In fact, when I was growing up throughout the 90s actors and actresses around that age used to get cast to play American high school teenagers, to the point it became a running gag at times.
If she's not been cast in anything it's either she's turning down roles, she's still focusing on her billion dollar company, or she quite simply isn't that good an actress. I'd lean towards the third one, no matter how drop dead gorgeous she is, she's always been a 'so-so' actress.
