what do you think of Rob Zombie's films?

For me this was like a mix between Polanski's "Rosemary's Baby" and Russell's "The Devils", though still not a big fan of Rob Zombie's horror films! I've checked out "House of 1000 Corpses" and its sequel "The Devil's Rejects" and just couldn't stand them, don't get me wrong I do like exploitation horror films, especially video nasties and those sleazy rape and revenge flicks of the 70s as well as cannibal films but his films just don't work for me. I even checked out his remake of "Halloween" and just thought he ruined the character of Michael Myers! Michael Myers is meant to be pure evil, an unstoppable force of evil and by adding a backstory to make you feel sorry for him, just ruined it for me. What do you think of his films?

I've liked his films so far. Typically, I prefer horror films that focus on subtlety, building tension, and atmosphere rather than blood, gore, violence, cursing, nudity, etc. so The Lords of Salem is my favorite film of his. It's the most up my alley. Though horror films with shock value usually aren't my cup of tea, I do enjoy most any horror film of the 1970s so Rob Zombie's films are an exception because they feel in the style of the '70s and use many of the same actors from those films. I feel many fans of Rob Zombie's felt betrayed by The Lords of Salem because it was so different from his previous films, but I wish he'd make more films like it because it's exactly what horror needed. But even if he doesn't, I will watch anyways because I've loved all of his films so far.

I'm a white zombie/Rob zombie fan but; his movies are either plagerized ideas or remakes! I don't believe I need to explain.

So far all have been great, imo.

Once again, someone is labeled an idiot for not agreeing with the obviously only right opinion. Agree with ME or you are an *beep* People like you are the reason I hardly ever get on this site anymore.

To be honest, he doesn't belong in the film industry. All his movies are pointless & stupid. Yes, that includes those crappy Halloween remakes. The excessive use of nudity, & sex is the main reason why his *beep* films fail. Just cause he loves porn doesn't mean he should use it in movies! With that being said, this circus freak should stop ruining classic movies & stop ruining the horror genre.

James Wan is a Masterpiece when it comes to horror!!! He's amazing. Without any nudity whatsoever. Unlike, the other freak.

hello letters and numbers, sounds like you know what your talking about and i respect that.I really do. I've read all the responses so far and it's mixed to say the least.Personally I love his movies,Like you said there is a gritty 70's vibe which is cool. The only thing i have to say is that Rob's directing is spot on.He's fantastic behind the camera and writes a great screenplay.I beleive his directing is so good because he has always loved movies himself. He creates an atmosphere that is wonderfully unsettling. Reminds me just a tiny bit of Lynch in directing style. as far as some posts acussing plagerism, who doesn't? The great ones call it influence.Take care

Am I drinking? AS soon as I'm done here
