'Modest' bride

there was an episode on today where the mom of the bride kept saying "she's a role model" and "she has to be covered up" . Mom picked a high neck gown and was willing to pay over budget for the gown. Bride picked a sweetheart neckline that mom was ify about. I missed the beginning, but at one point the bride said "this is the dress he's going to see me in for the first time". And mom said "when ?O husband walks her down the aisle and she meets her husband". Surely this was just a weird way of talking about the wedding , right?
