Spoiler, please...

I will only see this movie if I know in advance that the family is reunited with the dog, that he's unharmed, etc. Can someone tell me? I don't want too many details, but only whether or not it has a happy ending. I just can't handle sad dog movies... Thank you! :)

reply

Sorry but the dog dies, along with everyone else in the movie (considering how old they are).

So many haters/trolls/a-holes on this site! I don't even enjoy coming here anymore. This is a very sweet movie with a happy ending, so go with no doubts. Acting is top notch with beautiful scenery and a sweet story. I very much enjoyed this movie.

Thank you very much. I'd love to see it!

Thank you. What happens to the animal in a movie is the only time I actually seek out spoilers before watching something.

BTW, I agree with your first two sentences.

I remember reading in the original review (which did not give away the movie's ending) that it is based on a true story, and in real life, they DID reunite with the dog. That is good enough for me.
I am halfway thru it, and if I did not know (one or the other) ending, I, too would be unable to watch it.

they should be dey, you're slipping!

People laugh at the OP, but I had to know, too. I cannot watch a movie where the dog dies. I just cannot do it. I'll never see Marley and Me no matter how good it is. I just can't...it tears me up beyond description.

reply

Since losing all my three dogs, I can't watch anything where the dog dies. Don't worry it's a beautiful movie with a feelgood ending

reply

Same here. Dog movies as well as books. No. Way.

I was at Barnes & Noble at Christmas time a few days after our lab died and saw the book. This HUGE fireman comes up behind me and says with tears in his eyes that it was the best book ever. Then I started tearing up. Oh brother, it was pathetic. Not going to read it. Ever.

You should avoid this movie for reasons that have nothing to do with the dog being reunited unharmed with its owners. You should avoid it because it is utterly terrible.

There is a website you can check called "doesthedogdie" dot com.

It doesn't have every movie but you can check in advance.

I'm with you. I won't watch movies if the dog dies.

You can watch this movie.
