hairbrush anyone?!!

The only annoying thing for me in this series was the state of Dervla
Kirwan's character's hair - I know she was an artistic poetry -loving type but seriously her hair was so messy it was distracting....

WOW!
I can't believe someone mentioned this!!

I agree wholeheartedly!

I was very distracted by her hair both episodes I have watched!!
I kept thinking that I want to grab a straightener and jump through the screen abd sort it out!
Silly, I know - but her hair was that awful!

Count me in!! Not sure what the makeup team was thinking. Her hair was really messy.

Her hair has ALWAYS looked unkempt and ridiculous. For some reason, this woman has never maintained a decent hairstyle - her hair just doesn't hang right.

Dervla was annoying! Not just her hair but her personality and cluelessness when it came to many things. I didn't buy her "investigative" bit when she tracked down Alan's mom -- talk about a shot in the dark!

I thought her hair was a beautiful shade of brown. It was shiny and it was windblown. Didn't bother me. If there was something cosmetic or aesthetic that was askew, it was her thin (beige) eyebrows, which is a major sin for women, and she lacked a sense of style. But this is really superficial because it could go with her character of being the wife, I guess. Except Purefoy was perfection and so was Lucy.

I completely agree - she looked a right scruff bunny. It was distracting for me because James Purefoy was as ever so well turned out - debonair immaculate and every inch the gentleman, whereas Dervla looked more shabby than chic. I could not see a character of his class and career path being even vaguely attracted to a person like Dervla's character.

That's so funny! My husband always teases me when I'm commenting on hair, make-up or clothes on TV shows instead of the story.
