I started today and stopped midway since it appears...

...it's left unresolved. Disappointing. But then one wonders how they made any money from a TV web series shown for free on YT. I doubt there'll be a second season.

I saw the whole thing.
And I pretty much agree.

The writers did not a include details in a basic core story about how important characters dealt with their obstacles.
- For instance a main character is the blonde woman, Manta, who has a conflict with Dr. Gurvee.
The audience is shown jumbled bits about these two.
Gurvee developed a different implant.
Gurvee has controled Manta in some way.
Manta wanted to break free of this control.
But what happened with these two is not clear and their conflict is not resolved.

And that's not satisfying for much of the audience.

- Another example is Kenneth (another main character).
He is a programmer who developed the H+ implant.
Kenneth was hired by a woman (who also wanted to have a child through a surrogate).
But what happened in the company which led to the H+ implant is not explored.
What is the relationship between Kenneth and Dr. Gurvee (who has the competing implant)? Unknown.

- Instead the story does not stay with main characters to explore and resolve conflicts. It repeatedly gets sidetracked adding story bits.
The Africa scenes for instance don't help in understanding what is happening with the main characters.

- Finally, in the last moment of the final episode a completely new character is introduced who seems to be very important to the main part of the story.
This character should have been explored in the series from the beginning.

"But then one wonders how they made any money from a TV web series shown for free on YT."

It's all about views on YouTube which leads to advertising money.
If this series had millions of views fo each episode, I think the studio would have made money.
But that didn't happen.

"I doubt there'll be a second season."

I agree.
The views for the episodes fell way under 100K towards the end.
That's pretty low. And it's because of the problems I mentioned. The story does not stay with main characters enough to show how they develop and cope with their problems.

It's too bad because this is the first big studio level fictional web series.
But bottom line; expensive dramas need to be entertaining for a wide audience to make money.
And that can be successfully done with a fairly complex sci-fi story. "Ex Machina" is a recent example.
Instead H+ is a pile of disconnected and unresolved bits.
The H+ writers did a terrible job helping the mass audience stay connected to the story.

BB ;-)

it is just in my opinion - imo - 🌈

*****SPOILERS*****

k, so i watched above link which is strung together 3 hours total.
i don't know if that's the end of everything there is to watch or two seasons or what,
but the last thing i saw was: kenneth boots up into a super being who can control everyone in the world. apparently leveraging the nanites floating around in jason's body.
you think it's over with a metaphor of kenneth becoming god, but then,
we see dr. old guy whoever booting up his system and doing pretty much same god trick,
and the finnish girl manta whining about it.

is that everything there is to see so far? (as of november 2015)

your point about making money from a web series, that's another discussion altogether as to how can entertainment make any money at all in this new future of ours? with music at least artists can do live performances to cash in. how are we to make any money with original film content? live action plays, product placement, how to make money?
