Not ANOTHER Found Footage Movie?

Is this another found footage movie, or is everything in it the unvarnished truth? I hope so, as I HATE found footage movies.

It isn't a found footage movie. It is a legitimate documentary. I believe some soundbytes and pictures may have been fabricated; but it is a real documentary with interviews from the family of the possessed boy, priests who participated in the exorcism, people who work at the hospitals where the rituals were performed, etc.

So, is it like a documentary on a wrestler's training up to and including his world championship match on the WWE? Is it about the techniques he used to win the title from his opponent? I think the problem is.. Blair Witch Project IMHO was a great, new, invention. I loved it. But the same b.s. and fake documentaries claiming to be real, be it on (kill me now) shark week even, are just lost on us.

I was going to rent this until I saw "documentary". Well maybe I should ask, if I watch it as a fictional horror movie and not an insult to my intelligence, like wrestling, is it entertaining?

I take it you don't believe in possessions? I do believe in it, but I question whether or not some of the evidence could've been fabricated to make it more dramatic. But I think even for someone who doesn't believe in possessions, it could be entertaining enough as a fictional horror movie.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

Unfortunately, I do believe in a lot of that stuff. I did try to watch this last night. I think it may be more entertaining for others, but I shut it off after about 10 minutes. If it would have tried to be a straight documentary, I would have liked it. If it tried to be a horror movie, I prob would have liked it. But the mix, with all the dramatic audio and all just tried to pull me into two different places that didn't work well together. I think with fiction, we accept it as such and can put ourselves into a new world, even as extreme as Roger Rabbit, as long as it is presented consistently. With documentaries it is a different interest, a curiosity, and that requires trust for it to work.
