Is it me or did the introduction of the Bodyguard Lovely have a very gay camp vibe .

I am not asian, nor gay. I watch maybe 5 or 6 bollywood movies a year and every time the leading man is introduced it comes across as very very camp and homo erotic.

In Bodyguard, the lead character is surrounded by men banging large phallic sticks as he kisses his muscles whilst sugestively winking and whistling.

In Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap, the lead actor is at best described as very 1970s Dick Emery 'Hello Honky Tonk' in terms of his demeanour and dress sense.

Maybe its a cultural thing, movie audiences in India and Pakistan demand that leading men look and act campy and this is a sign of full blooded machismo.

Once its decided that the lead characters are not homosexual, what is the obsession with matching men in their 30s and 60s with teenage girls

Well you are right.
Its a cultural misunderstanding.

Kissing muscles while winking and whistling wont really be looked as homo eroticism in this part of the world but you should also remember that bollywood movies hardly ever describe the true culture or the common man and his living but only focus on either a perfect world where everything is right and people celebrate like they never do in real or a very badass world where nothing is right and people get slaughtered like sheep.

You should also remember that bodyguard was a total failure in both the story and the action which were both infact copied from another B/C-Grade movie and the overall story borrowed from an old but an epic bollywood movie.

And you should also remember that when the people here are watching this movie they don't feel anything slightly close to the homo thing you can extract out of it and thats because people here see a strong badass hero displaying his strength and all while people from your part of the world would view it just like you do but as i said its a total cultural misunderstanding and nothing.

When two guys or girls hold each other' hands and walk around here they aren't thought of as lesbians or homos or whatever but very good friends or close relatives and whatever homo sexualism might exist here only exists behind closed doors.

i didn't really watch the other movie you are referring to as im not a big bollywood fan yet but i don't really thing the leading actress in Bodyguard was a teenager infact i don't know anyone in bollywood who is and the lady in BodyGuard had acted in movies before i was born and i have come a long way from the teenage myself.
But yes the trend of matching old women and men with lesser aged partners is very popular in bollywood and it has everything to do with the investors not willing to take any risks and the sames the reason for nothing inventive coming out of Bollywood and you maybe a fan of it but i have seen the same stories and same movies since i were a kid and they only keep repeating them with different character names and a few new songs here and there and the rest remains the same usual stuff.

nopes, this is a REMAKE of a malyalam and tamil bodygaurd released in 2010 and 2011... ALL 3 movies are made by the same director and have the same story

Bodyguard hired to protect higher class/unattainable woman who looks down on him at first. Slowly things happen and they fall in love. Impossible love!!! D: Will she leave everything to be with the man she loves? of course :\

off topic, you know whats crazy? In Titanic (the movie), at the beginning leo gambles his ticket to get an extra one for his best friend. That's a huge thing, they must have been really close. He goes on the ship and meets this girl... about what 2 weeks maybe later, ship is sinking, leo doesn't even have a 2nd thought about how his BEST FRIEND is doing all he cares about is this chick he just met.

How irritating.
