@1:01:27 into the movie, she is standing in a kitchen with kindling her sister brought in for the stove. Why is there a crucifix above the door? I googled is Hitler was Christian or not. Silly I know, he was not. Jewish people do not believe in Jesus, so why would the cross be hanging there? please forgive my ignorance ahead of time

Magadalena was not her sister, but her 'sister-in-law'.

This also explains Tomasz's mother's reaction to Hannah. As a good Catholic, she would not want her son marrying a Jewess.
