Did not think the series was still being made...

hmm, if this somehow turns out good (director is the same person behind The Machine Girl and Mutant Girls Squad - so 30/70 chance) hopefully this may helpt get Tomie vs Tomie into the US, and due to the director, this could possible be the most chessiest but probably the most bloodiest out of all Tomie movies.

Edit: Watched the trailer, and I am pleased with how it looks. It certainly is bloody and the beheaded Tomie looks great (in the sense of gruesomly awesome) Hopefully this could be proved as his most coherent and well formed work to date.

It actually premiered at the Fantasia Film Festival yesterday! So hopefully we get some English reviews and some more posts on here. I also hope this means we'll get a US DVD. I definitely think this will be the best in the series. I'm only a little worried because in an interview, Iguchi stated that it will be funny in some parts too. Hope it's not Robo Geisha funny.

If this was the first Tomie anything that may fly, but I hope it doesn't mean it'll be that level of funny either.

At least you're not alone in that boat. Tomie vs Tomie, and now Unlimited, are the only Tomie movies I need as well.
Imagine my surprise when I came here looking for any word on a Tomie vs Tomie region 1 release, only to find out about this new film!

Normally, I am against pointless American remakes of foreign films. But secretly, I have almost wanted an American version of Tomie to be made. My thinking is, even if they pull off some remake, starring Emma Stone and completely missing the point of the story, at least it will bring more interest of the series to the US– giving us easier access to the original films.

I managed to find a review, and it doesn't seem that the humor is very evident, so yay! I guess there's only a bit of laughs, I'm not sure what Iguchi-san was referring to though. Tomie VS Tomie is not available in region 1, but it is available for download at http://www.japanflix.com/title/tomie-vs-tomie. It's not free, of course, otherwise it would be illegal! You can purchase download it on your computer or rent it; not sure how that works. Not only that but it's the only version with decent subtitles. I believe it's purchased via itunes.

I would honestly really hate an American remake! Even if it means the original films will become more obtainable. There are only two unavailable in region 1 anyway, and since Unlimited is premiering at film festivals, there is a chance we'll get the DVD. The previous films aren't too hard to find, especially online. I just really hope we get Unlimited on a subtitled DVD. It's premiering in the UK soon, and the UK has gotten Love Exposure and Helldriver on DVD already!

I'm honestly prepared to buy any version of Unlimited and deal with the region code problem in some way.
