Actually, I think more realistically, it would be released here as Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night. In other words, just remove the "2", and make it seem like a spin-off to the first film as opposed to a sequel.

I don't know if you had done further reading on this film, but it is considered a sequel to the first film and is considered canon.

It's the japanese sequel to Paranormal Activity. Paranormal Activity 2 is not even a sequel until the last minutes, its more of a prequel and Paranormal Activity 3 is a prequel, maybe should have been called Paranormal Activity 0 like Ringu 0.
