dreadful: its all over the place!

This show is so incoherent. I put it down to the success of shows like "lost"? I would be very surprised if a second series got the go ahead considering the haemorrhage of viewers in the US?

They should just go ahead and create a Dancing with the Stars : Alcatraz Edition

It would get better ratings PLUS we could see Rebecca and Nikki in skin-tight outfits and Soto and Hauser trying to do the cha-cha

I watch with my mom (89 yrs) and she likes cop shows and mysteries, and thinks reality TV honks. There was just enough background information and mystery involved with the premise to keep her interested. I hate to witness her frustration with trying to understand, but due to her age, she's also thinking her cylinders are too rusty and that she may be the problem.

Will continue to watch the final episodes of House and whatever replaces Alcatraz.

Sadly, the experience of watching a TV series can be compared to the scene in Annie Hall when the 2 elderly ladies are having lunch in the Catskills, one comments "the food is terrible" and the other replies "yes and such small portions".

Well, when they can't keep the attention of a person that apparently actively wants to watch their show, they've got a problem

Agreed.
I think a mini series would be ideal for stories as this one.
Harper's Island is a good example. Knowing that there will be
an ending makes you more involved. That show got better by the
episode. And the ending was thrilling.

After Lost,a lot of people including me had their stomach full.
Especially when they took the easy way out.It makes it hard to
invest in a show if you don't know if it will have an ending that
at least will answer most of the questions raised.

Construct a sentence.

Because obviously everyone would expect a cohesive rational story from J.J. Abrams. [sarc]

In an ideal world all posts would automatically include the authors age and I.Q.
