Not arrogant here, just honest

I agree, Roxie. Let’s face it: the vast majority of people who go into show business as performers (as opposed to, say, writers or grips or casting agents or producers) feel hollow inside and crave attention and approval. I bet the ones who succeed at the highest levels are those who are usually the most desperately hollow, in addition to having (usually) outrageous talent and luck. I am not putting these people down, I am sympathizing with them. You don’t find this phenomenon just in entertainment. I see it every day in bodybuilding and martial arts. I saw it years ago in modeling. We humans will do literally anything to feel loved; it’s a primal human need. The problem is, if you feel hollow on the inside but have the talent to win massive adulation, like Freddy and Queen did, you implode from the adulation, e.g., Marilyn, Elvis—The very first one-name superstars.

You have to laugh at post...interviews are promotional material. Why would a person who may be arrogant in real life act arrogant in an interview, and risk losing fame?

You cannot judge a person or think you know them by watching interviews. That's the face they present to the public, because they want people to like them and buy their material.
