Singer nominated for best director oscar?

will it happen?

reply

No, I don't think it will.

reply

Doubtful because of...you know.

reply

He wont

reply

He won't even if this was is best work and it's far from it.

reply

Yeah doubtful as the studio replaced him with Dexter Fletcher with 2 weeks left (who was doing the Elton John Rocket Man film), so even without any of the allegations he's not likely to be in favour of other Directors.

A series of stories about the chaotic set of “Bohemian Rhapsody” culminated with the announcement that 20th Century Fox has fired director Bryan Singer. Reports of Singer’s “erratic” behavior include fighting with lead actor Rami Malek, the director not showing up on set (veteran cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel reportedly stepping into the role), and after the Thanksgiving holiday, Singer disappearing completely, leaving a representative to cite a “personal health matter” concerning the director and a family member as the reason for his absence.

and the nomination process:

Members from each field may only vote to determine the nominees in their respective field. Directors only vote for Best Director nominees, editors only vote for Best Editing nominees, cinematographers only vote for Best Cinematography nominees, and actors only vote for nominees in each acting category. Yet all voting members are eligible to vote for potential Best Picture nominees.

Guess we'll know on Tuesday US time (Jan 22nd).
