700 million worldwide
Who woulda thought?
It seems the world loves Queen!
I sure do!share
now at 750m. and with the awards season should comfortably make it to 800mshare
It was a big hit!
Pretty great biopic, we really loved it
Inaccurate garbage movie.share
Oh, well that settles it, then.share
Look at other excellent Music biopics...Walk the Line (05) and The Doors (91)
The writers and directors have to distill decades worth of great material into a two hour film...some things will get a bit altered but the spirit is there and as a somewhat aware audience we get the struggle
But we got the point
yeah im kinda sick of seeing headlines about it online
it was enjoyable but i could have done as good a job as rami
Definitely didn't think it would do that well. It even outdid A Star is Born. People forget how big Queen were. I was more shocked with the success in America and how well it did there, I know Queen were huge there for a while but later releases didn't do as well. I still don't understand the hate it got from the critics to be honest, sure it messed with some truths but most Biopics do.share
They sort of glossed over some things and turned the story into a formulaic biopic.
I still enjoyed it, but a more honest approach might have been more interesting.
May I ask what sort of budget it had?
I'm guessing low, as the cast wasn't big-name and there were no special effects called for, outside of re-creating a stadium concert. It must be fantastically profitable.
The production budget was 52 million.share
They probably could have made it for less, but it's turned out they had absolutely no need to scrimp!
My heartiest congratulations to anyone who's got a piece of the back end.
Yeah...I wonder if Queen gets much of the film's profits or if they just receive royalties from the Soundtrack sales?
I read that the director, Bryan Singer, is getting a boatload of it. Ironic since he was "fired" from the film.
