Hope they didn't pull an Oliver Stone

I thought Stone's movie The Doors sucked. I have a lot of problems with the movie, but my biggest problem was that it made a mockery of Jim Morrison. In the movie he's drunk, he's high, and psychotic the whole time. The movie exaggerated things and made things up. By the end of the movie, you don't even care that he's dead. If someone were to see that movie without knowing anything about Morrison, they'd sit there wondering what there is to like about him. I'm glad Oliver Stone wasn't involved with this movie.

That being said, I hope this movie doesn't do the same thing to Freddie Mercury. I'm sure the fans feel the same way. I can think of a few music biopics that did it right.

The Buddy Holly Story
Elvis (1978)
Elvis (2005)
La Bamba
Sweet Dreams
Ray
Walk the Line

Dishonorable Mention: I Saw the Light
Oh God, don't even waste your time with that. I'm sorry I even bothered watching it. Filmmakers had no idea what they were doing. One of the worst biopics ever. One of the worst movies ever.

Yeah, that really ticked me off about Stone's "The Doors." The completely fabricated scene where Jim locks his girlfriend in a closet, sets in on fire and walks away is unforgiveable. Morrison never did anything of the kind.
