Not over exaggerating

I don't consider myself a film snob at all. I love all movies no matter the rating, genre, whatever. Im all about shutting my brain off for a bit and just laugh or be entertained and thought that would be the case with this movie. Wrong. This is truly one of the worst flicks I have ever seen in my lifetime. I truly mean that. Awful on so many levels. Don't waste your money on a rental and more importantly do not waste your time

reply

Agreed.

With titles like: I Survived a Zombie Holocaust, My Name is Bruce, Don't Mess with the Zohan, Mercenaries/Expendebelles and Big Ass Spider on my favorites list I'm never going to be mistaken for a film snob.

I am connoisseur of crap. I know quality crap. I believe that crap movies can be wondrously hilarious.

It's not stupid funny, its just obnoxiously stupid.

"Rawr".The frigging zombies literally say "RAWR!" for the entire movie.

Flush this corn laden turd.

"Big Ass Spider"

That sounds good. Believe it or not, I am NOT being sarcastic.

I found it entertaining enough. Some good scenes, some good laughs and some good "eeew" moments.

I particularly liked the zombie kitties.

Not the best movie, no. Not even the best in it's subgenre of zombie comedy, but still passable fun.

Dead Snow 2, though. Now that's a wonderful gem of a movie.

reply

I won't knock your opinion. I just don't agree. I think people should avoid at all costs. There's not one redeemable quality to this. I couldn't sit through it after he was holding on to the Zombie's dick from the window. Surprised I made it that far especially after the scene where the young kid grabs the pair of zombies boobs. What a terrible terrible movie.

reply

Found those two scenes rather hilarious, to be honest. I actually don't even know why since it's not the kind of humour I usually like even.

Suffice to say that you probably need a specific mindset to really enjoy this flick.

reply

Seriously!? There is "not one redeemable quality?" While I did not like the film(it is in the bottom 14% of my ratings,) I sadly have seen worse films and television episodes. If you want to see something on the bottom of the scale, check out "Santa Claus and the Ice Cream Bunny," or "The Beast of Yucca Flats." I can't remember the other 1 I gave(thank God) so I can't tell you what else to avoid like the plague. Those are films that have no redeemable qualities other than they unfortunately exist.

Cringe worthy, yes, bad cheese, yes, misogynous, yes, stupid, yes; but still this wasn't so bad that there was nothing good in it. I did laugh at parts. It did what it set out to do and tried with a certain degree of success, so I gave it a 5. This is on a scale of 1 to 10(without 0 as most people forget) 5.5 is the middle, and in math we round up from 5.5 to 6. So getting a 5 is not desirable for a film.

reply

While you make a good point, and I respect your opinion, but I stand by this post. What makes it even worse is Tye Sheridan is a great young actor that has been in some amazing movies (Mud, Joe, The Tree Of Life) it makes it even more cringeworthy that he would do such a shallow, ugly, and (all the things you mentioned) overall *beep* comedy. I'm all for dumb comedies but this was just *beep* terrible

reply

Sadly this is often the case with good actors. They can be in one good thing, but to pay the bills they have to be in poor films like this.

My point was simply that having no redeemable qualities is something I would only say about the worst of the worst. Otherwise it looses it's potency when it gets said too often. And yes I also found the two scenes you mentioned unnecessarily crude, dumb, offensive, and not funny. I did laugh at the cats attacking them though, but not much else of the film.

reply

For me it wasn't as bad a movie as it was for you, but I definitely agree that it was "not really worth seeing".

If any friend asked me if they should watch it, I would probably say, "It's weak, but okay. There are dozens of movies that I'm quite sure you would find more entertaining."

Rey is the lovechild of C-3PO and Chewbacca. It's obvious.

Now that I think about it, there are very few people in my life who would be able to stomach the "penis-stretching" scene.

Please remind me to never again say anything like "few people would be able to stomach the penis".

This was a pretty bad movie. I liked My Name is Bruce by the way. Funny and sticks with what it is the whole time and of course there's Bruce.

reply

This movie truly sucked. I hope Sarah Dumont, and Halston Sage can recover from this dreck.

reply

My boyfriend, mom, brother, & I love this movie. The 5 people I've loaned my copy to thought it was hilarious. People have different senses of humor...mine leans toward dark & twisted. Just because you don't like the movie or see the humor in it doesn't mean its garbage.

reply

I'm not saying my opinion is the final judgement for the World on the film. Just my opinion is all

reply

I can understand why some may not find it funny. My family and i found it hilarious. Many people thought the new Ghostbusters was very funny, we barely chuckled. Didn't find Bridesmaids all that funny either and so many people think it is hysterical. Just different styles appeal or repel different people.

reply

Admittedly the movie makes some incredibly stupid choices that took me out of the movie a few times. But at least it doesn't take itself too seriously. Not at all a good movie, but this is nowhere near as bad as some movies I've seen.
