Rated R? My scout is bummed!

Does the director know that there are nearly 6 million registered boy scouts in the US? Not counting Girl scouts, etc. I'm parent of 2 myself, and because it's rated R, I won't take them, and they're super bummed. Too bad the director/writers dismissed the younger kid demographic. This would have been a hilarious family movie, and I expect thousands of Scouts would beg to see it.

reply

This isn't your family friendly zombie killing movie. Hence why it is rated R.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

reply

...'Family Friendly' of course being code for 'Parent Friendly'.

reply

It's a zombie film lol

reply

Unfortunately this one is all about boobs and guns, typical 15/18 year old guy stuff. Could have definitely been a good family movie if it weren't so vulgar. There's no need to put nudity in any movie. Totally ruins it

So you're against boobs and guns and nudity but you like horror movies? You are one seriously screwed up prude.

reply

It is not about need, people can create what they want.

Plenty of family movies exist, go watch them. I don't get why you're looking to condemn anything adult orientated? You want all entertainment to be child friendly? Why!?

reply

Yeah, but in this particular case, scouts is an organization created for children, so it's a more understandable issue here than, say, World War Z or pick any of the other hundreds of recent zombie flicks.

reply

And most horror movies these days are PG13 (which *beep* ruins it). So *beep* off. Go take your kid to see *beep* WWZ then instead.

reply

Who, me?

I don't have a kid, and I don't care.

I was just saying to the guy above, it's not that the person needs every single movie ever made to be kid friendly, it's just that a lot of kids happen to be in scouts so naturally it's going to grab the attention and interest of that group more than other horror flicks, which is why this an issue that the person is only bringing up here and not taking to all the other horror boards (seeing how they have a scout themselves).

I'm well aware of PG-13 ruining so many things. I skip almost all of them myself. I'm actually interested to see if there's going to be an unrated/extended cut of this myself. I'm surprised a few of the things got slipped into an R already.

reply

Wasn't talking to you, was obviously speaking to the OP and AGREEING with you.

reply

olo_floof's confusion is understandable, since you mistakenly replied to him.

reply

And mentioned WWZ, which was only in my post, but whatever, all's good.

reply

The Insidious series (All PG-13) is like the best horror series. PG-13 doesn't ruin horror movies at all, if anything, it makes the director work harder to keep it scary without adding a ton of gore.

reply

If you consider Insidious "the best", you haven't seen actual, proper horror movies yet. Don't get me wrong, Insidious is okay, but it's not particularly scary or memorable.

Try Martyrs. Or A Serbian Film. Or Babadook or It Follows if you need them to be in English.

reply

It Follows is great, The Babadook is one of the worst horror movies I've seen. Not a huge fan of movies that aren't watchable without metaphors, and even with metaphors, don't make sense. It Follows is watchable without the metaphor, The Babadook is not. I've seen SO many horror movies, and there aren't many that are as good as Insidious in my opinion.

reply

I don't know if this slipped you by, but the whole novelty of this movie is that the "Scouts" are damn-near adults. They're overgrown Boy Scouts. That's pretty much the whole shtick.

reply

You call this 'Adult orientated?'

reply

What's the specific nudity because it says graphic nudity which is usually more than just boobs. Actually it usually means dongs unfortunately lol.

Lessee, there's boobs, graphic muff-diving, a zombie schlong stretched until its pulled off (which itself wouldn't have been so bad if it was a girl pulling on it), and said body-less schlong ending up in a zombie's mouth (again, not a female), etc.

So yeah, not exactly family-friendly.

reply

So, no female nudity whatsoever? In that case, I'm skipping out on this.

reply

2 x topless female zombies

reply

Only human females count, not zombie ones. ;-)

reply

Other than Denise and Kendall, all the women are zombies. And the two "stars" aren't getting nekkid!

reply

AMEN SISTER, JESUS AMEN PRIASE THE LORD

reply

Ha. You'd rather see blood and guts, than naked flesh? You'd rather see someone stick an axe in a head, than stick a body part in a body part? Sex brings more pleasure than war, but someone grimaces at violence yet gets wierded out by intimacy?

Stop trying to make it a kid's movie, *beep* ITS A MOVIE FOR ADULTS.

reply

Yea showing tits is so bad but showing killing is A OK. Typical idiot. Go read your bible.

reply

Do you let your kids watch the news?

"CANNIBAL"
By far, my favorite horror film.

PG-13 HORROR
Garbage! Enough said.

reply

Happy a77hats like you aren't running Hollywood these days

reply

You remember before 2000? When kids could actually watch R rated movies?

Pepperidge Farms remembers.

reply

I suggest you just stay home and rent Air Bud.

reply

This is not your typical scout movie. Since the scouts in this movie may be called scouts but there not actual Boy scouts from how there uniforms look. This does look like it will be an interesting movie as we get to see Scouts take on Zombies. I am planning to see this movie being that I am a Scout.

reply

Ahh, so you're a troll. In that case I suggest you stay home and rent Air Bud: World Pup instead.

reply

You're also forgetting that a lot of people used to be scouts who have grown up that can watch this.
