Most underrated comical genius-Mr. Jones

After really stupid commercial advertisements came Sikel and Ebert's most scathing thumbs down review I ever saw them write and so my interest in seeing Erik The Viking was an absolute zero. I was 15 and not driving yet so one Wednesday evening my mom dropped me off to see one of the Lethal Weapon movies at the dollar movie and she pulled off before I discovered the Newspaper had misprinted the film schedule with the film an hour of the way through. My choice was sit around for 2 hours twiddling my thumbs and playing arcade games, go watch the last half of the movie or watch something else and the only movie option was Erik the Viking so I reluctantly chose the latter.

There has never been a better comedy secret that slipped on past success into obscurity as Erik the Viking. With the exception of A Fish Called Wanda it is tops among post python solo/side projects and after seeing it Mr. Siskel and Mr. Ebert never wrote another review that meant *beep* to me, permanently compromised beyond repair. I am SO GLAD he's directing again. Python was a collective of genius comic talent but Jones has seemed to me to be the ring leader most in touch with the dark, black humour element of what Python comedy is in essence.
